  • Terra Firma is an installation, speculative design project and an invitation to re-examine our relationship with food and the environment.  The Terra Firma installation is a conversation starter, a call to action to think about what and how we eat, and whether we can incorporate food production and waste into and onto the surface of a table.

The Terra Firma – Edible Tablescape serves as a platform for exploring the relationship between food and the environment, showcasing sustainable practices, and encouraging conscious consumption. Terra Firma is more than just a table, it’s a sharing plate, a serving vessel, and a topographic surface that encourages mindful eating and fosters a stronger connection with the food we consume.

The materials used are carefully selected promoting environmentally responsible practices.Terra Firma is made from a combination of natural and repurposed materials, including raw clay, natural carnauba wax and biomass. The table surface is designed to grow sprouts, reminding us of the lifecycle of food in our daily lives.

Terra Firma provides a unique and immersive dining experience that allows guests to connect with their food in a deeper and more meaningful way, while also highlighting the impact of our food choices on the environment. It is a platform for sparking conversation and inspiring change in the way we think about and interact with food.

Terra Firma unique food design experience is created by Heiter X.
